Energy Opticon AB was pleased to participate in the Sustainable Heating & Cooling by Sweden (SHC by Sweden) Study Tour in southern Sweden, held in #Lund and #Helsingborg on 6–8 October.

The study tour brought together utilities and industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge, explore innovative solutions, and discuss how district energy systems can contribute to a more sustainable, resilient, and competitive energy future.

Herman Nedar from Energy Opticon held a presentation about total optimization of combined heat and power production in combination with multi-market optimization, utilizing the flexibility in the entire energy system and creating new revenue streams from trading markets.

Sezgin Kadir and David Edsbäcker from Kraftringen presented the smart and innovative energy system in the city of Lund, which includes:
✅ The world’s largest low temperature heat network.
✅ Green process steam to, and utilization of waste heat from, nearby industries.
✅ The #SmartFlex consumer flexibility platform, for both heat flex (DSM) and the most optimal choice between heat pump and district heating in the connected buildings, which is being further scaled up.
✅ Co-optimization of the regional district heating system #EVITA, with a connection of the district heating network between three different energy companies, Kraftringen (Lund), Landskrona Energi and Öresundskraft (Helsingborg).

Magnus Ohlsson from Öresundskraft AB presented their AI solutions for predictive maintenance of the heat network, and also information about their planned CCS installation and sustainable solutions for heating and cooling.

A big Thank You to the Swedish Energy Agency – International, Sustainable Heating & Cooling by Sweden (SHC by Sweden), SweHeat and Cooling and Business Sweden, for organising the study tour and bringing stakeholders from #Sweden, #Denmark, #Germany, #Lithuania, #Estonia, #Poland, #France, #Ukraine and the #UK together to share experiences and insights.

We also want to give a special thanks to Stefan Blom and Regin Group for inviting us to an evening event about smart, automated and sustainable buildings!

We look forward to continuing the dialogue with the participants and contributing to the development of smarter and more sustainable and flexible energy systems! 🌍🍃🏭🏢
