Last week on May 12-13, the Energy Optima 3 User Group Meeting 2026 – the largest annual networking event for combined heat and power producing companies in the Nordics – was held in Helsingborg at hotel Clarion Hotel® & Congress Sea U.
The 29th edition of this appreciated two-day event, where 50 persons from 24 different energy companies from the Nordics, Baltics and Germany participated, was packed with:
✅ News presentations from the latest Energy Optima 3 release – new functionality for data-driven production optimization and trading
✅ Workshops
✅ Networking activities
✅ UserExamples
✅ GuestLectures
✅ Physical activities and a networking dinner in the evening.
🌟 🌟 🌟 One of the most appreciated points on the agenda, was the amazing panel discussion with the three Swedish/Finnish/German TSOs about Balancing Markets. Many questions and discussions about current and future challenges and possibilities with balancing markets (such as mFRR, aFRR and FCR) were adressed.

A a big part of this year’s agenda was focused on functionality for Multi-Trading-Market Optimization in harmony with district heating production, and the planned, new Trading Module in Energy Optima 3. We presented user examples of electricity trading market modelling, such as Blockbids, Intraday and BalancingMarkets.
We also presented user cases for EnergyManagementServices, such as support for utilities with daily optimization and trading, during times with shortage of staff.
